Experiences of Latina Mothers Seeking Depression Care During Pregnancy and After Birth

We're looking to learn about Latina mothers' experiences getting care for depression during pregnancy and after giving birth. We want to know what helps or gets in the way when trying to get support. This includes things like healthcare access, support from family or friends, and neighborhood factors. Your experiences can make a difference by helping improve care for Latina mothers facing depression during and after pregnancy.

What will be asked of you

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to take part in a one-time, confidential interview conducted by Zoom. You will be asked to share your experiences getting help for emotional health after having a baby. You will also be asked to answer a brief set of demographic questions.

$40 gift card

Total length of participation:
60 minutes

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You are a Latina mother who recently had a baby in the last 12 months.
  • You have felt sad, overwhelmed, or depressed after giving birth.
  • You received prenatal or postpartum care through a UNC Health OB-GYN clinic.

Not eligible if:

  • None
