COPES: Effects of stress and anxiety during pregnancy

We are conducting up to 4 surveys of pregnant persons receiving care at UNC, to investigate how changes in life routines and your stress level as a result of this pandemic might affect your pregnancy

  • 18 years ~ 50 years
  • Female

Location

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

- Main study: Complete up to 4 sets of online surveys - All participants who complete the first set of online surveys will be eligible to join the second part of this study, where we will collect your blood once during pregnancy.

Incentives

All participants who have their blood collected for the study will receive baby care items valued at $20

Total length of participation:
9 months

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • You are currently pregnant
  • You plan to deliver your baby or babies at UNC - Chapel Hill
  • You are less than 28 weeks' gestation
  • You have had an ultrasound confirming your due date

Not eligible if:

  • You are not pregnant
  • Your baby has been diagnosed with a major structural abnormality or birth defect
  • Your baby has been diagnosed with a major chromosomal problem (like Down syndrome or Trisomy 21)
