CureGN (Cure Glomerulonephropathy)

CureGN is a large multi-center, long-term observational study of patients with Nephrotic Syndrome and other glomerular diseases, which aims to improve the diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of patients affected by these diseases. This study will follow 2,400 patients with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), Minimal Change Disease (MCD), membranous nephropathy (MN), or IgA Nephropathy/Henoch Schonlein Purpura.

  • 0 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

At each in-person study visit, you will: fill out questionnaires, provide a blood sample, provide a urine sample. provide information on your medical history. At each remote visit you will fill out a questionnaire and an answer questions about your health status.

Incentives

$100 for each in-person visit/$50 for remote visit, Parking passes for on-site parking

In-person visits:
In-person visits once a year
Phone or online visits:
1-2 remote visits per year
Total length of participation:
5 years or longer

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Kidney biopsy in the last 5 years
  • Diagnosis of nephrotic syndrome from biopsy
  • Willingness to provide blood and urine samples once a year
  • Willingness to be contacted by phone/email every 4 months

Not eligible if:

  • Diabetes at the time of kidney biopsy
  • Currently receiving dialysis
  • Kidney transplant recipient
  • Active cancer at time of kidney biopsy
  • HIV, HepB, HepC at the time of kidney biopsy
