To address gaps in puberty education by developing a bilingual needs assessment and providing accessible, age-appropriate educational materials and in-person sessions for underserved 8-12-year-old patients at the UNC Pediatric Resident Clinic.
The purpose of this study is to determine which new magnetic resonance sequences provide better, faster and more useful information. A sequence is a distinct method of obtaining magnetic resonance (MR) images. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam is made up of many different imaging sequences. These new sequences will be implemented on either on a 3 Tesla (3T) MR system, a 7 Tesla (7T) MR system (single- or multi- transmit), or both. Since the signal-to-noise ratio for MR images is highly dependent on the magnetic field strength, the anticipated signal-to-noise will be 7T greater than 3T and 3T greater than 1.5T systems. The 3T MR system is FDA approved whereas the 7T system is not FDA approved, but is built to the same standards as other FDA approved scanners. Current dialysis vascular access patient education materials can be overwhelming, not written in plain language, and not have enough realistic information about the steps involved in getting a dialysis vascular access before starting hemodialysis. This study is being done to create and test a dialysis vascular access educational video for patients. Participants would take part in a one-time interview about their thoughts on dialysis vascular access education and their ideas for a vascular access video.
Primary: To demonstrate the safety of autologous LSCs administered by intravenous infusion in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Secondary: To demonstrate the efficacy of autologous LSCs administered by intravenous infusion in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
This study aims to understand the challenges of using music therapy to support patients before and after surgery. While past research shows that music therapy can help reduce anxiety and the need for pain medications, it is not commonly used in hospitals. To explore this, researchers will interview surgeons, nurses, hospital staff, and patients to learn more about the barriers and how music therapy might be better included in surgical care.
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of pramipexole extended release (ER) versus escitalopram for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) and mild neurocognitive disorder (MND) in people living with HIV (PWH). This study will also look at whether you experience any side effects from the study drugs.
This study examines how characteristics of women's relationships with family members are related to their health during pregnancy. Results will suggest how families can become more supportive of women's health during pregnancy.

The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Education is interested in conducting an educational research study with parents and their 4-5-year-old children. The broad goals of the project are to better understand how parents and children interact while reading together and engaging with age-appropriate science-related toys. This study will help us better understand how children learn and help promote positive academic outcomes.
