gonorrhoeae prevalence among women seeking care for abnormal vaginal discharge and lower abdominal pain in Lilongwe, Malawi

The utility of syndromic management for STIs is predicated on up-to-date information on the etiologies of the syndromes being treated. Periodic assessments of N. gonorrhoeae among women presenting to care with LAP and AVD+ are important for treatment guidelines. Additionally, assessing pharyngeal N. gonorrhoeae among women with genital infections, which has never been done in this population, is critical to ensure adequate treatment and prevent AMR.

Accountability for Care through Undoing Racism & Equity for Moms (ACURE4Moms)

Pregnancy complications are increasing in the United States, and this is worse for Black patients, who are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy than White patients. Pregnancy complications and deaths cause large physical, social, and financial burdens for patients and their families. Our study aims to decrease pregnancy complications for all patients, but especially for Black patients, by decreasing institutional racism and bias in healthcare and improving community-based social support during pregnancy.

Core Concepts for Didactic Education in Pharmacy Administration & Leadership

Core concepts within disciplines of science have allowed educators to teach the most foundational and critical knowledge efficiently, and students to obtain essential skills and knowledge required for a given discipline. Recent decades have seen many science disciplines applying and confirming the benefits of core concepts. However, there is limited research on the core concepts of healthcare administration and leadership, especially within pharmacy. Consequently, the lack of consensus on core concepts prevents consistency among training programs teaching pharmacy administration and leadership (PAL). Given the increasing value of didactic training for PAL and attributes within training programs such as MS degrees for pharmacy, a set of core concepts must be well defined to assist with didactic PAL training. In the world of rapidly evolving medical services, technologies, and policies, strong PAL skills can lead to advanced global health and the alleviation of some of the world's most pressing healthcare challenges

SHARP Network Process Evaluation - Practitioner Interviews

In partnership with the NC Injury and Violence Prevention branch, the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center has been facilitating a peer learning network initiative for harm reduction practitioners in the central Appalachian region for the past 3 years. This initiative, the "Sharing Harm Reduction Practices (SHARP) Network," is funded by the CDC's Overdose Data to Action program and is entering the final project year. We are conducting a process evaluation of the network to document 1) the ways in which the network has supported practitioners in their work and 2) how we built the network in case other regions would like to replicate our efforts. We plan to conduct 8 qualitative interviews with peer members to understand their experience as network participants.
