To determine optimal content and design features of mHealth apps for smoking cessation that are most preferred by Black and African American adults who smoke or use other tobacco products.
My team and I have designed an educational website to be used by men and women who have had a recent heart attack. Our goal is for participants who join the study to use the information provided to learn how to improve their self-care to help prevent another heart attack. In order to know whether our educational program is helpful, we are looking for men and women like yourself to try using and give us feedback about it.
We are conducting a research study to use graded exposure and mobile mindfulness meditation to address clinical outcomes in individuals 6-months to 10-years post-ACLR. This will help develop effective treatments to improve outcomes after ACLR. This study will last 5 weeks. Compensation provided.
We want to learn how people's brains adapt when responding to various food stimuli and decision-making processes. We also want to learn about brain responses to food and beverage consumption. To do this, we will use taste tests, surveys, behavioral tasks, and neuroimaging (fMRI scan).
Leveraging our decades of experience studying the acute and chronic effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and concussion, our investigative team propose an innovative, translational approach that bridges both preclinical and clinical studies. We propose testing multiple potential preventative and therapeutic strategies in the preclinical setting, while simultaneously conducting a prospective, longitudinal study of neurologic health outcomes associated with concussion and sub-concussive exposure in former NFL players. Our prior studies of former NFL players over the past 15 years provide us with a unique opportunity to conduct a truly prospective, longitudinal study of long-term neurologic health outcomes and determine any possible association with concussion and repetitive sub-concussive exposure. In parallel, we have developed animal models of repeated concussions (repetitive mild TBI [rmTBI]) and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). We have studied the effects of readily translatable preventative and therapeutic strategies, including the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist memantine, low dose carbon monoxide
Do you have a solid tumor? Would you like to have screening done to see if you are eligible for a treatment study? If so, you may be able to take part in a study that will look at your tumor sample to see if you are eligible for another investigational treatment study.
Have you been diagnosed with Low Risk Breast Cancer? Have you already been treated with surgery? If so, you may be able to take part in a research study looking at the effect of regional nodal radiotherapy.
Learn more about the learning experiences of undergraduate students when they take Asian Studies courses in order to improve the engagement of students in the future.
If you or your child had or currently have abnormal cell growth or a related condition, including brain and nervous system tumors, you may be able to take part in a research study. This is a study for patients who are receiving treatment at UNC hospitals. In this study, we will collect samples to better understand the causes of your disease.
Nowadays, AI systems have been applied widely in a variety of predictive tasks, from objective detection to text classification. These AI systems have greatly advanced automated decision-making. However, sometimes humans and AI systems think in very different ways, which means humans and AI systems might use different evidence to make predictions. In this study, we are using sentiment analysis of Amazon product reviews as a case study. Humans will judge sentiments of different words with different AI explanations. Human and AI judgments will be compared to find to which extend human and AI knowledge align.
