Predicting a Walking Related Trip After Stroke

Tripping while walking is very common after a stroke. The purpose of this study is to determine when a self-induced trip will occur.

Eating Disorders Genetics Initiative

The purpose of EDGI is to learn more about how genes influence risk for bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, and anorexia nervosa. Pancreatic cyst follow-up study

There are currently two common follow-up plans for patients that discover they have a pancreatic cyst. One plan has the patient seen more frequently and the other less frequently. This study attempts to answer the question of which approach is better by randomly assigning each participant to a plan and following them for 5 years.

Non-Invasive Cell Collection Device

Have you been diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus or Esophageal Adenocarcinoma? If so, you may be able to participate in a research study to find out if a new, minimally invasive device can collect cells from your esophagus without the need for sedation. Compensation provided.

ScreenNC

The purpose of the study is to collect blood from asymptomatic individuals to screen for antibodies for SARS-CoV2 , which is the virus that causes the COVID-19 illness. We would like to see how many people may have been exposed to the virus but who do not have symptoms of the illness. If there are enough tests available, we may ask you to allow us to also do a nasal or oral swab to test for COVID-19. This study is being done at the following clinics: UNC Family Medicine Center (Chapel Hill), UNC Family Medicine (Wakefield), UNC Women's Health at Eden, UNC Family Medicine Southpoint, UNC Internal Medicine Goldsboro, UNC Family Medicine Airport Road (Kinston), North Chatham Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, UNC Specialty Care Sanford, UNC Family Medicine- Mebane, and UNC Family Medicine- Clayton. Work in the Time of Corona

While platforms market gig work as an opportunity for entrepreneurship and as a fall-back option during periods of unemployment, the current coronavirus pandemic -- and the importance of social distancing -- suggests that gig employment might not be a solution during times of national crisis. This mixed methods research project will utilize in-depth interviews and demographic surveys (conducted remotely) with up to 100 gig workers in NYC affiliated to examine how workers are experiencing the virus and how it is impacting their lives and livelihoods.
