The purpose of the study is to gain a better understanding of Black women's experiences with communication, relationships, and interactions with their women's health care providers. Specifically, we are interested in 1) exploring Black women's experience of racism or discrimination and stress, 2) understanding the importance of racial concordance between Black women and their obstetric care providers, and 3) describing Black women's lived experiences with their obstetric care providers.

To collect research samples from CF patients already having a clinically indicated colonoscopy. We're collecting a few additional samples on top of what is collected for clinical purposes to give to researchers for future projects. This will increase your time of procedure around 5 minutes.

Throughout Latin America, public security is an increasingly important issue due to growing concerns regarding drug trafficking, organized crime, homicides, and violence. While much of the research on the topic focuses on citizens' support for hard-on-crime policing and politicians' subsequent enactment of such policies, scholars have not studied the responses of the innocent people who become unintended victims of these policies through government-sponsored violence. How do these people seek to hold the state accountable for the negative consequences of hard-on-crime policies? Which policies do they seek to advance? With which other civil society actors and policymakers do they ally and why? Most importantly, when are they successful in shaping public security policy? In this research project, I focus on the organized resistance against police brutality in Brazil's urban areas, especially in the poorer regions known as favelas.

This study compares two different surgical tubes and post-op ointments as treatment for one type of glaucoma, an ocular disorder in which the pressure inside the eye is too high.

This research will look at the way colleges and universities use public podcasts to engage with the public. The podcasts in review are specifically ones that are produced by a central communications or marketing office. The research will help inform general standards for college- and university-produced podcasts, to better understand their purpose and success on the school's larger communications strategies.

This is a research study to learn about the mental health of people living with HIV in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Participants will answer one survey that will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The purpose of the study is to capture the time course of patient-reported improvement with VDZ or UST from baseline to Week 52 (end of study).

Specific Aim 1: Identify standardized and validated quality of life values among patients undergoing surgical management of BPH Specific Aim 2: Identify the prevalence and severity of financial toxicity among patients undergoing surgical management of BPH Specific Aim 3: Characterize subjective patient priorities regarding procedure characteristics and the impact of these on patient clinical decision making.

The United States is facing a worsening physician shortage that particularly affects people living in rural or underserved communities. One strategy used to address this problem is clinical exposure programs for students in high school, college, and/or medical school. Research currently suggests that these programs could influence participants' interest in medicine, specialty choice, and practice location preferences. Mentoring in Medicine is a summer clinical exposure program that targets college students in the Johnstown area of Pennsylvania. This region of the state is socioeconomically disadvantaged and medically underserved. No formal follow-up has been conducted on the participants since the program began in 2004. We plan on surveying these past participants to examine their academic and career interests and outcomes. We will also use physician databases to determine career outcomes. This data will help contribute to the body of evidence regarding educational interventions to improve medical shortages in the United States.

We are trying to understand how agricultural workers in Southeastern North Carolina feel about managing their diabetes. We hope to help participants feel more comfortable in understanding their diabetes and how to better control their blood sugar.
