Emergency department patient perceptions on deprescribing

Recent updates to the clinical practice guidelines of the American Heart Association (AHA) and US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), now recommend against the use of aspirin for primary prevention in older adults due to the associated bleeding risks. Moreover, it is estimated that 25-40% of older adults continue routine aspirin consumption without evidence-based clinical indications. Using the emergency department as a platform to evaluate patients' perspectives on discontinuing aspirin in scenarios where the risks or potential drawbacks surpass the benefits. This assessment takes into account the patient's care objectives, existing functionality, life expectancy, values, and preferences.

AI's Impact on Teaching Effectiveness

This study seeks to document and interpret teachers' lived experiences as they navigate the promises and challenges of AI in their classrooms. Using phenomenological interviews, the research captures the authentic voices of high school teachers across three dimensions of effectiveness: instructional design, assessment, and classroom management. Grounded in the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, the study will generate insight into how educators balance innovation, pedagogy, and ethics. By addressing this critical gap, the study will provide policymakers, teacher education programs, and professional development leaders with actionable guidance on supporting teachers through this technological shift. Ultimately, this research seeks to ensure that the integration of AI strengthens, rather than replaces, the professional judgment and creativity that define effective teaching.
