Obesity is a significant public health concern that has been associated with a range of dangerous pregnancy outcomes. However, the lived experiences and perspectives of obese individuals regarding these outcomes are underexplored. Understanding how patients feel the relationship between obesity and their pregnancy experiences can provide valuable insights for healthcare providers, inform patient education, and improve prenatal care strategies.
This project will fund data collection for a natural experiment that jointly measures the vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and social participation impacts of an e-bike voucher pilot in Raleigh, North Carolina. The city will soon invite residents to enter a lottery to win one of 150 e-bike vouchers. A portion of these vouchers will offer a deeper discount to low-income applicants. The lottery is a natural experiment that allows us to evaluate the causal effects of e-bike incentives, and e-bikes themselves, on travel behavior and quality of life. We will collect data through a panel survey of lottery participants before and after vouchers are awarded, with those who do not receive vouchers serving as a control group. . We will additionally provide study participants with access to OpenPATH, a real-time smartphone app developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to track changes in driving levels.

The purpose of this study is to understand how people use their eyes while working on tasks using multiple computer screens. We want to learn how eye movements change when people do structured tasks given by the research team compared to when they do their own regular work. This information can help us improve future technology, like smart glasses, to make working with virtual screens easier and more comfortable.
We are interested in studying how people behave at work. This study consists of one online survey where you will be asked to read one news article and answer brief questions about workplace behaviors.
I'm doing a project to learn how Lumbee food traditions are kept alive today. I'm talking with Lumbee community members about the meals they cook, the gardens they grow, and the stories they remember. These food traditions, like making cornbread or growing collards, help show who we are and where we come from. I want to understand how these traditions are passed down in families and shared in the community, even as times change. By recording these stories, I hope to help keep them alive for future generations.
