This project helps UNC Health support the health and happiness of people in North Carolina by growing local businesses and sharing wealth. We plan to do this by 1) learning how UNC Health's 14 places feel about buying things, especially from diverse and green businesses; and 2) getting all UNC Health places to agree on supporting small, local, and diverse businesses.
To assess the nature of ideological intuitions citizens use when making informed guesses about other people's political issue positions. In other words, what do people conclude about each other's wider system of political beliefs upon learning that a conversation partner supports (or opposes) a certain policy position or regulation (e.g. support for renewable energy investments, opposition to the death penalty). Intuitions about wider sets of political beliefs may be relevant to political decision making (e.g. voting, candidate appraisal) and in everyday social interactions (deciding which friend-circles to enter, whom to associate with, which clubs, associations to join, ect). The goal of this study is to gain an overview of the prevalence and relative strength of ideological intuitions for a set of 16 different political attitudes and identity markers.
I am using a survey to assess the value of an in-class simulation exercise where students will explore different ways to nominate candidates. I am holding the simulation in a political science class on political parties and elections at UNC.

To use a human centered design process to partner with community co-designers to understand how mentorship within a developmentally positive environment supports the mediators of reflection, belonging, and meaning-making to increase neurodiverse students' self-advocacy, self-perception, self-purpose, and ultimately in service of promoting academic performance, thriving and well-being. The purpose of our project is to explore how the components of metacognition play a unique part in shaping the psychological and social landscape of young individuals with learning differences. Our study will examine how the effective application of these assets can transcend theatre arts through STEAM environments to support diverse learners with continuity throughout their learning experience.
