The purpose of this pilot study is to evaluate the feasibility of analyzing peer networks to understand their influence on behaviors and well-being among high school students. By identifying social connections and key influencers, the study seeks to assess the practicality of implementing strategies aimed at enhancing positive peer influence and promoting youth mental health. This pilot will provide critical insights into the viability of a larger-scale study.
This study will explore student self-regulated learning behaviors in introductory biology classes. In particular, it will collect data regarding the effectiveness of training materials and educational technology tools (the "ZenStudy" app) on improving students' ability to self-regulate their own learning and, subsequently, their achievement in the course. In the first few weeks of class enrolled students will be asked to complete a survey to verify they are over the age of 18 and if so ask for their consent to be included in the study. Consenting participants will then be randomly assigned to conditions (control students will be asked to review a video and complete a reflective task, treatment students will be invited to utilize the ZenStudy application and complete an evaluative survey). Engagement with the ZenStudy application will then be analyzed as a potential moderator of student digital course engagement and achievement.

We want to understand how young adults who vape and have depression feel about messages that encourage them to stop vaping. We're doing this to see if these messages could help people quit vaping and improve their mental health.
This study will be the first to investigate potential linkages between early life adversity, parenting quality, child self-regulation, and biological aging during the critical period in early childhood when telomeres are eroding most rapidly and may be most susceptible to environmental input. The long-term goal is to determine how early adversity becomes biologically embedded in early childhood in order to prevent or mitigate risk to later health and wellness. Findings will provide important information to help in the development and/or optimization of early risk-mitigating intervention and prevention efforts to improve the quality of life for children.
