Is your diabetes not well controlled on your current medication(s)? Has your doctor been discussing adding additional medication to help reduce your HbA1c? If you have type 2 diabetes with elevated blood sugars and have excess body weight, you may be able to participate in a research study to find out if an investigational medication can help improve your diabetes and help you lose weight.
Do you have type 2 diabetes? Do you have kidney failure and require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis? You may be able to take part in a research study to find out if using an approved medication (semaglutide) improves blood sugar control. Study medication and diabetes management provided. In this study, we want to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of inhaled insulin and continuous glucose monitor (CGM) use compared to usual care for people with type 1 diabetes.
Do you have cardiovascular disease risk factors? Do you sit too much? Help researchers learn more about the most effective strategy for interrupting sitting! If you are 45 years or older, you may be able to take part in a research study to find out if interrupting sitting with walking or pedaling reduces cardiovascular disease risk.
This study is made up of two parts. The first stage is to see how many people with hard-to-treat Type 2 Diabetes may also have high levels of a specific hormone. The second stage is to see if taking a medication to lower that hormone can help diabetes control.
We want to learn how people's brains adapt when responding to various food stimuli and decision-making processes. We also want to learn about brain responses to food and beverage consumption. To do this, we will use taste tests, surveys, behavioral tasks, and neuroimaging (fMRI scan).
Does your memory cause you daily problems? Interested in improving your metabolic health? If you are 65 or older and overweight, you may qualify for a research study examining whether changing the timing of your eating habits can improve your metabolic and brain health.
Do you have T2DM? Are you concerned about your heart health? Do you have Chronic Kidney Disease that is due to Type 2 Diabetes? You may be able to take part in a research study to help learn about the safety and impact of a study treatment that is injected into one of your kidneys.
In the Carolina Blue Project, we want to learn more about work-related stress, eating behaviors, and cardiovascular disease risk factors among law enforcement officers. If you work as a law enforcement officer in any North Carolina or nearby states law enforcement department, you may be able to take part in this study. We do not collect any personally identifiable information. Officers who participate in the project and complete the two required steps will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
