Diabetes Control in Dialysis-Dependent Kidney Failure

Do you have type 2 diabetes? Do you have kidney failure and require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis? You may be able to take part in a research study to find out if using an approved medication (semaglutide) improves blood sugar control. Study medication and diabetes management provided. Participants will be compensated for their time.

Osteoarthritis Prevention Study

Did you know that over 250 million persons are affected by Osteoarthritis? It is the leading cause of disability among adults and has no cure. Prevention of OA is preferable to treatment and females are affected at nearly twice the rate as males. If you are a female, at least 50 years of age, overweight, with no or occasional knee pain, you may be able to participate in a research study to find out if a diet and exercise program or a health education program prevent knee OA.

Diabetes Weight Loss Study with Cardiovascular Risk

Do you have T2DM? Are you concerned about your heart health? If you are also overweight or obese, you may be able to take part in a study where we are comparing insulin to a new oral medication to help better control diabetes, heart health, and weight loss. Disinhibited Eating and Cardiovascular Diseases in Stressed Police Force: The Carolina Blue Project

In the Carolina Blue Project, we want to learn more about work-related stress, eating behaviors, and cardiovascular disease risk factors among law enforcement officers. If you work as a law enforcement officer in any North Carolina or nearby states law enforcement department, you may be able to take part in this study. We do not collect any personally identifiable information. Officers who participate in the project and complete the two required steps will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
