We would like to learn about how people who apply for healthcare financial assistance experience the application process, including things that make the application process work well or that were challenging. At this time we are not able to offer interviews to people who applied to UNC or Duke, we are interested in hearing from people who applied to other programs (such as Atrium, Novant, Wake, Vidant, ECU, Cape Fear Health Net, Physicians Reach Out, or Project Access).
We are looking for adults who are interested in a weight loss program that uses a smartphone app and activity tracker to help them lose weight and develop healthier habits.
Are you a young adult cancer survivor who would like to improve your health? Interested in using technology to support a healthy diet, get more physically active, and make healthy lifestyle changes? Researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are looking for volunteers to sign up for a 3-month research program using a Fitbit activity tracker and mobile app to improve your physical activity and dietary habits.
In this study, we want to learn if a communication and conflict resolution program is effective when done online as a part of a weight loss program for Black couples.
Is your diabetes not well controlled on your current medication(s)? Has your doctor been discussing adding additional medication to help reduce your HbA1c? If you have type 2 diabetes with elevated blood sugars and have excess body weight, you may be able to participate in a research study to find out if an investigational medication can help improve your diabetes and help you lose weight.
Are you overweight or obese? If you also have heart disease or kidney disease with at least two risk factors for carviovascular disease, you might be eligible to take part in a research study that may help you reach up to 19% weight loss. In this study, we want to learn if a drug that is being tested is effective in reducing heart disease risks and will help you reach a healthier weight and active lifestyle.
Are you a non-drinker? Are you physically active or do you tend to sit a lot? If you're interested in learning about how alcohol use and physical activity may affect your health, you may be able to participate in our research study that includes two in-person study visits and a 21-day monitoring period. Compensation provided.
Our team is exploring how technology can help us capture dietary information. We are looking for older adults who will be willing to help us see what is the most effective way to capture nutritional information.
Are you interested in making changes to your lifestyle to improve your eating and physical activity habits and manage your weight? You may be able to participate in a 6-month research study using a smartphone app and digital tools that is designed specifically for young adults.
Do you have type 2 diabetes? Do you have kidney failure and require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis? You may be able to take part in a research study to find out if using an approved medication (semaglutide) improves blood sugar control. Study medication and diabetes management provided. Participants will be compensated for their time.
