Preventing walking disability in our rapidly aging population is an enormous public health challenge. Fundamental to their loss of functional mobility is that the muscles needed to power walking experience decline in function with age. Wearable assistive devices can be designed to augment the function of these muscles and may make walking easier. If you are a healthy older adult, you may be able to participate in a training intervention to determine the feasibility of a passive wearable ankle device that strengthens walking dynamics and decreases fall risk.
We are looking at how parents and adolescents in 5th or 6th grade use social media and how this use relates to body image and mental health. We are interested in this because of the high rates of social media use among adolescents, and the concerns the general public has about how use relates to mental health.
This study is gathering information to inform the development of a program to support Black students and their connectedness to school. Black students feel disconnected to school at higher rates than other students. We hope to better understand how to increase connectedness and barriers to designing and implementing programs in schools.

This study looks at how using social media affects baby feeding and parent stress. We want to learn which social media sites parents use to find baby feeding info. We also want to know if using social media makes parents more worried or stressed about feeding their babies. We will talk to parents and do surveys to gather this information.
We want to know how babies respond to social cues. We are looking for families with babies under 2 years old to join an eye-tracking study. The study will help us learn more about how babies show interest in social things by watching changes in their eye size.
Do you want to help in the design of a new device that can electronically measure and track your strength? We are testing a new system that uses an electronic resistance exercise band and an 'app' designed for older adults to improve strength and prevent weakness. We will provide $25 in gift card incentives.
Feel anxious when your body goes into "fight or flight?" You may be eligible to participate in a research study to learn how difficult emotions, such as anxiety and fear, relate to feelings in the body. Compensation provided.
We want to learn about how being involved in school activities affects Black college students. We're looking at how these activities might help with school success, personal growth, and feeling connected to their culture. We will use surveys and group talks to gather information. This study will help us understand both the good and tough experiences Black students face while joining activities at predominantly white institutions (PWIs).
The main purpose of this study is to explore how aging affects not only the local organization of hippocampus but also the corresponding global connectivity. Additionally, the findings of age-dependent alteration on hippocampal subfield networks lay the foundation for the development of an early biomarker of Alzheimer's disease.
