Peer support interest for kidney disease and pregnancy

The purpose of this study is to gauge interest in a peer support program to help individuals with chronic kidney disease who are pregnant or are contemplating pregnancy navigate decision-making and care management. Effective Peer Teaching In Computer Science

The study will analyze data about how students use instructional resources to discover how the use of those resources relate to student demographics (i.e., who uses which resources and to what extent) and learning outcomes. The resources under study are specifically those involving peer instructors such as learning assistant-led recitations and office hours, peer tutoring, and interactions with peers on instructional communication platforms such as Sakai and Piazza.

AI-Powered MRI Quality Control and Artifact Correction

The purpose of the registry/repository is to provide a mechanism to store data and images to help facilitate the development of a deep learning framework for automatic, objective, fast, and accurate image quality assessment (IQA) of structural MRI data. IQA is typically performed via visual inspection by MRI technologists and can be time-consuming, subjective, and error prone. Our method will complete IQA in milliseconds with high sensitivity and specificity.

Development and Effect of an Electronic Learning Module on Defibrillator Competence in Anesthesia Providers

The purpose of this study is to find out if an online learning module can be just as effective as in-person training for teaching anesthesia residents how to use a defibrillator. A defibrillator is a machine that helps restart a person's heart when it stops beating. The study will look at how well the residents can perform important tasks, like using the defibrillator to deliver a shock to the heart, both right after they learn and four months later. The goal is to see if the online training works as well as traditional hands-on training and if the residents prefer one method over the other.

Understanding School Mental Health Supports for Adolescents with Suicide Risk during COVID-19

Mental health care for adolescents at-risk to suicide is often provided in school settings and school professionals play a role in suicide prevention by fostering a sense of connectedness to schools. The practice of social distancing to reduce the spread of COVID-19 has disrupted these school-based mental health services and left adolescents with few opportunities to connect with peers or adults outside their home making them vulnerable to suicide. Despite these challenges, this time period affords an opportunity to learn how to mitigate the impacts of this disruption, providing insights that extend to school closure related to inclement weather, natural disasters, and extended leaves due to mental health crises (e.g., hospitalization) faced by adolescents with suicidal urges. Age-Based- Genomic Screening Caregiver Interviews

The University of North Carolina Age-Based Genomic Screening program is an innovative paradigm that aims to provide targeted and highly actionable genetic information to parents via their child's routine wellness visits. The final stage of the program involves a pilot study that will expand pediatric genetic screening in well-child care across the states. In preparation for this final stage, we will conduct interviews with parents or caregiver of children in North Carolina to inform an implementation plan, educational and training materials, and evaluation plan for the pilot study. The interviews will consist of questions aimed at assessing barriers and facilitators to the implementation of ABGS, including parents' and children's healthcare and genetic screening experiences (such as blood and saliva collection), perceptions and interest in the ABGS program, expectations and experiences with healthcare providers, and the information needed for participation decisions.
