Help Us Understand How Hormones Affect Mental Health in Teens! Are you a teen girl (or the parent of one) curious about how hormones influence mood ? During the teen years, depression risk rises-especially as the brain, friendships, and hormones are all changing. The Teen VIBE Study at UNC seeks to understand why some teens feel these changes more intensely, so we can create better treatments in the future. Our research study uses safe, well-studied birth control pills and MRI brain scans to explore how hormone changes across the menstrual cycle affect mood and the brain.

We are looking for Latino youth (ages 13-19) and one of their parents to take part in a research study.

Are you a caregiver to a child with Type 1 Diabetes? Do you live over an hour from your child's diabetes care team? The University of North Carolina is looking for volunteers for a study. We want to see how a telehealth program called REAL-Fam can help families manage diabetes and everyday tasks. You will get paid for participating.

Big Discoveries Start Small! Looking for Young Explorers to Join Our Screen Time Study Have a child ages 3-8? Spectra Discovery is a one-week research study exploring how wearable devices might track screen time in young children. Your child will wear fake glasses, a shirt clip, and a belt activity counter while using a study-provided tablet. Parents will complete brief daily surveys and device logs. Is your child between the ages of 8 and 11? Was your child assigned female sex at birth? If so, you may be able to take part in a study to see how social experiences and puberty can affect the mental health of preteen girls. We want to help improve youth mental health support. Compensation provided.

Is your child being hospitalized at UNC Youth Behavioral Health for suicidal thoughts or behaviors? If so, you may be eligible to participate in a research study to identify the risk factors associated with recurrence of suicidal thoughts after psychiatric hospitalization. Both you and your child must participate to be eligible for the research study. Compensation provided.

Are you the parent of a female 13-15 year old teen? Do you have a history of depression? If so, you and your teen may be able to participate in a study looking at teenager's brain responses, emotions, social interactions, and depression risk. Families can be paid up to $375 for their participation in the study.

Is your child age 5,6 or 7? If so, you may be eligible for the LEED study on emotional development and mental health in children. You and your child can earn up to $695 in a combination of cash, gift cards, and prizes! No travel required!

You and your child may be able to take part in a study designed to help us learn more about what children eat. During several visits that include surveys, taste tests, a brain image, as well as an optional blood draw, so we can learn more about the eating behaviors of children. Compensation provided.

Does your school-age child seem tired or fatigued? If you have a child with hearing loss or a child with normal hearing, you may be able to participate in a research study to find out if listening fatigue is associated with differences in sleep outcomes. Compensation provided.
